Let us be your crash test dummies

Another Easter break and COVID is still lurking in plain sight. We have spent the week isolating as one of our offspring tested positive. Thankfully, we hadn’t paid for expensive accommodation over Easter or I wouldn’t be quite so chill. We all work from home, so apart from not being able to go to the pub, there hasn’t been much of a difference to our weekly routine. It has given me the opportunity to be tied to my desk and clear a whole bunch of BAS from the “to do” list. There’s always an upside. I have also started planning more automated processes for Appy Books.

I have concluded that I am App addicted. Of course, this is a personal, not a professional, diagnosis. But what else would you call it when you are constantly looking for faster and smarter ways to do admin tasks. And there are so many apps to choose from. My latest push is to find a dashboard I can use to see all my clients’ performance KPIs in one place. I want my finger on the pulse of all 35+ clients at the click of a button. Just looking on the Xero App marketplace, there are 76 alternatives to choose from. So, how do you choose the right one for you? I don’t know how other people do it, but for me it’s trial and error. I peruse the list, find the prettiest app then, give it a crack and see if it does what I need it to do. We here at Appy trial it for a couple of weeks in our spare time, and if it works, roll it into our practice processes. It’s kind of like taking a car for a test drive. It means if our clients ever want to buy a new app, they can call us for some good suggestions. Think of us as their crash test dummies …. but with less bruises.

If you are thinking of finding new ways of working, perhaps you need to give us a call. We’d be happy to sort the winners from the lemons and put you ahead of the pack.

Have an ‘appy Easter!
